With more than 20 years of experience in product development, sourcing and marketing, I help companies build premium products — and bring them to market with clarity and commercial focus.

Concept Development — from idea to market-ready products

Strong products don’t start with design — they start with understanding what should exist in the market, and why.

Global Context works with early-stage product direction: identifying opportunities, defining positioning, and shaping concepts that can be developed, produced and sold.

This includes everything from product architecture, materials and design direction to how the product should be presented and understood in the market.

The approach is simple: the product should carry the brand — not the other way around.
When the product is right, marketing becomes a matter of clarity, not persuasion.

Openwater

A premium modular luggage brand, where Global Context is responsible for European market strategy and e-commerce.

The work includes positioning for the European market, digital structure, and the development and operation of the e-commerce platform.

Art direction and graphic design

All products come to life through good logos, well-thought-out marketing and an imagery that excites. It is with a whole that you achieve success, when the consumers are looking for you, you know that you are on the right track.

From idea to final art, I create your visual dream, from logos to pamphlets and catalogs.

Go-to-Market & Performance

Global Context works hands-on with how products reach the market — from first launch to ongoing growth.

This includes building the e-commerce setup, structuring the customer journey, and driving qualified traffic through Meta and Google — with continuous testing, learning and optimization.

The focus is always the same:
validate demand, improve conversion, and scale what works.

Visual content & photography

As part of my offer, I offer Lifestyle Photography and Product photos. I am a educated photographer myself, but I often work with photographers and stylists in my network.

Product design & engineering in a global context

The products I create should always be based on the direction that the brand wants to take, based on a thorough analysis of the surrounding world. It must tickle and be absolute salable. 

 

The products should have as small environmental footprint as possible achieved by creating them in high quality, in right material with the right methods. The core of sustainability is about a genuine belief in improvements.

ABOUT  ROBERT GROU

Bio

I work with product, brand and market — connecting development with commercial execution.

Since 2000, I have worked across product design, sourcing and marketing, with a focus on building products and brands that perform in real markets. My background includes roles within established companies as well as developing and operating my own projects.

Today, through Global Context, I work with companies that want to create or scale products with a clear market position — from early direction to launch and growth.
